The existence of extraterrestrial life is one of the most controversial issues. When someone claims to have seen or believe in UFOs is common to have hidden laughter or hurtful teasing. However, the UFO phenomenon remains a mystery which the human being is not able to understand.
Do they have an explanation? Are they real, fraud or camera errors? ¿Lies, cover-ups, overlapping truths? Many are those who have tried to project some light on the subject, including several astronauts.
Hear them affirm extraterrestrial existence is rather strange and even more when they present very little evidence. What motivates them to do it? Obviously, to talk openly about UFOs and extraterrestrial life risk anyone to infamy and the discredit of the scientific community and the world. Why? Perhaps because they believe fiercely in what they say or they may want to draw attention in the twilight of their lives. Hard to tell. But if you want to know who they were and what they say, read on.
1. Brian O’Leary
Okay, O’Leary didn’t go to space, but he was an astronaut and participated in a project that would take humans to Mars. However, it was canceled and O’Leary resigned from NASA. Shortly after he was selected by Carl Sagan to teach at Cornell University. Between 70 and 80 he worked in several magazines of science and astronomy. During the following years he deviated from orthodox science and deepened in metaphysical and little respected subjects. In the 90s he began to accept the existence of extraterrestrial life and noted that NASA and the government hid information. Fervently he believed that aliens had long since visiting Earth. Since 2008 he was a staunch defender of ufology, until he died in 2011.
2. Edgar D. Mitchell
This astronaut was the sixth man to walk on the moon. Among his studies are highlighted his doctorates in science of aeronautics and astronautics. He participated in the Apollo 14 mission as a pilot. On the return to Earth he experienced a savikalpa samadhi, a type of spiritual enlightenment, which changed his life.
Since then he has taken a keen interest in the so-called paranormal phenomena. He also believes that the governments of several countries have established contact with beings from another world. According to his informants, the Roswell incident is real, but it has been covered up by the government. According to Mitchell, the way the government do it is offering one truth among many lies.
3. James McDivitt
This astronaut witnessed a strange UFO sighting. While the Gemini 4 plowed on Hawaii, McDivitt saw a cylindrical metal object. It took several pictures, but on returning the photos were confiscated and have never been showed to the public.
4. Joseph Walker
This NASA pilot participated in the X-15 program, which allowed him to travel to the skies in a supersonic craft to reach space. For this he was awarded the astronaut medal. He also participated in the testing of several ships, including some space modules prototype. But it was during a flight of the X-15, in April 1962, when he peered six UFOs.
It wasn’t the only time that happened. Walker took photos and videos of the strange objects, but only one picture came out to the public. Walker, curiously, died in a plane crash four years later. It was a training flight to take photos for General Electric. Walker’s plane diverted its course and collided with another. Photos of the incident made it clear that there wasn’t any UFO involved, apparently.
5. Gordon Cooper
Gordon Cooper was a renowned pilot and member of the Air Force. He participated in the Mercury and Gemini missions. But it was not in them where he saw these strange flying objects, but years ago and repeatedly. The first took place while flying through West Germany in 1951, these sightings were repeated several times during the year.
Six years later there was another sighting much closer. It happened near to the center of an aerospace testing. Along with another witness he observed as a ship landed and minutes later disappear rapidly. They took photos and videos that were sent to the Pentagon. He didn’t heard from them anymore, but Gordon Cooper saw a great concern about it. So he spoke openly about and even presented to the UN an initiative to investigate the UFO phenomenon, since it represented an issue of global concern. However, their claims were not addressed and for the rest of his life he continued to demand that governments talk openly about and reveal the truth.
After reading this you may think this were a lot of nonsense, but are they really? What would win these astronauts to assert the existence of extraterrestrial life? Only his discredit and the attention of the tabloids. But there will be many others who have been convinced by them. What do you think the truth is?
